Noida Metro Plans One City One Card, A Multi-Purpose Fare-Card, For Commuters

Noida: It is a fare-card that would take care of both the metro rides and cash withdrawal from ATMs. Once introduced, this card will fetch glory for Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) as no other existing metro network in the country has brought such a convenient multi-purpose facility for their commuters.

With a tentative date for beginning of metro train on 30km long aqua line between Noida and Greater Noida announced, NMRC decided to introduce one city one card with the throwing open metro operation for public on this route.

UP Govt To Bring Policy To Eliminate Single-Point Electric Supply To High-Rise Apartments

Noida: Consumers at high-rise apartments in Uttar Pradesh will now breathe a sigh of relief as the state government is planning introduce a new policy which is expected to remove anomaly in electric supply chain to high-rise apartments and end erratic billings.

Shrikant Sharma, minister of power in Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday told that the government will soon announce the policy through which the current practices, which was brought by his predecessors, would be phased out. He said that the state power regulatory commission is discussing over the draft policy and it would be finalised shortly.

Nine More Now Make It To Smart Cities List; Ghaziabad, Meerut Miss The Bus

New Delhi: The Centre has included nine more cities from six states and Union territories to its smart city project after rejecting the nomination of several cities which failed to meet the benchmarks set by the government. However NCR Cities like Ghaziabad and Meerut have failed to make the cut.

While four cities nominated by UP could not get selected, one each from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra could not make it to the list of total 99 cities.

Some states loss meant gains for others. Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim got an additional city each in comparison to what they were initially allotted based on their urban population. UP got the maximum share with three- Bareilly, Saharanpur and Moradabad- out of the nine new cities.

Aiming To Create More Jobs, Noida Allots Plots To 121 Entrepreneurs

Noida: Encouraging entrepreneurship under Startup India Mission, the Noida development authority on Friday allotted plots to over a dozen entrepreneurs under a startup scheme, which was brought up after the state had witnessed a regime change last year.

In August 2017, the authority had announced industrial plots allotment scheme under which a total of 125 entrepreneurs were to be allotted plots for setting up new industrial units or expanding their branches.

A total of 121 entrepreneurs including startup were allotted plots of different sizes under respective categories.

Emerging Affordable Housing Corridors in NCR

Exponential urbanization and tremendous employment opportunities have made NCR one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. It is the largest urban agglomeration in India, with more than 28 million urban residents (around 7.5% of overall country’s urban population). The accelerated urbanization and rampant migration of working population from different states have created a tremendous need for affordable housing in NCR – and the requirement keeps growing.

A recent ANAROCK report shows that NCR comes out on top in terms of the number of units added in the affordable housing segment (priced < INR 40 lakh) during the last two years, and accounted for around 26-30% of the overall affordable housing segment’s supply across the top Indian cities. The region’s share of new launches in the affordable segment has grown from a mere 21% in 2012 to 71% in 2017 (up to Q3).
