Noida: Encouraging entrepreneurship under Startup India Mission, the Noida development authority on Friday allotted plots to over a dozen entrepreneurs under a startup scheme, which was brought up after the state had witnessed a regime change last year.
In August 2017, the authority had announced industrial plots allotment scheme under which a total of 125 entrepreneurs were to be allotted plots for setting up new industrial units or expanding their branches.
A total of 121 entrepreneurs including startup were allotted plots of different sizes under respective categories.
Out of the total figure, it had reserved 17 plots for startup under different categories of plots sizes. Official sources with the authority said that 13 entrepreneurs out of the total were allotted plots under different categories. He said that five were found ineligible for startup scheme.
AlokTandon, chairman and chief executive officer of Noida, said that they had kept few plots reserved for startup. He said that they will follow the normal procedure of making payment against the allotted plots.
He said, “Other than start up, entrepreneurs were allotted plots under different categories of different sizes.”
He informed that draw of lot method was followed for allotment of plots sizing up to 4000sqm. He said that above this size of plot, the allottees were selected through interviews. Later a draw of lot was conducted among four selected allottees of 5000sqm plots for allotment of plots bearing specific number in a particular industrial sector.
According to the scheme, these entrepreneurs will now have to ensure that they make units operational on respective allotted plots within a stipulated period of two years, starting from now. This will create more jobs in the city.
Other than this, the authority is continuing with another scheme for allotment of industrial plots spreading over land areas of 5 acres. Under the scheme, the authority reserved 250 acres of land for allotment.
Tandon said that this is an open ended scheme for which applications have been invited from industrialists who can submit application till the end of ongoing month. He said that they will be allotted plots by mid of February this year.
He said that they are in conversation with big private players from whom applications are expected for allotment of plots. He confirmed that the author received applications from MothersonSumi and Paytm and Tata consultancy is expected to apply for the same.
He said that the authority is aiming to attract 10000 crores investment for which it will sign agreement with companies before or up to UP investor submit, which scheduled for February 21 and 22.
