Unscrupulous Developers From Noida, Greater Noida And Yamuna Expressway Likely To Face Criminal Charges

Noida: Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Rajiv Kumar on Monday told the government is ready with audits’ draft reports of sick residential housing projects in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway and would get final reports from the agency shortly.

He told media that once the final reports are out, the government will decide amount of penalties based on finding. He said that the government will initiate suitable action based on audit findings. He said that respective developers will face criminal as well civil charges as per findings of audit, carried out of their private housing projects. 

Though, the government had promised delivery of 50000 homes to buyers under the first phase by December-2017. The secretary added that the figure of 25000 has been achieved and similar number of home buyers will be given possession by February next month. He said that other 25000 home buyers will get possession by April this year.

He said, “There are several complex issues as far as delay in possession of homes are concerned. These include those housing projects against which insolvency proceeding is in progress. Similarly there may other reason due to which completion of housing projects was delayed.”     

Kumar said that as per the new rules (Real Estate Regulatory and Development Act-2016) there is provision that an audit of sick housing project has to be conducted for solving the problems. Authorities have already completed the audits of several housing projects and would shortly get report from the agency hired for the jobs.

The Chief Secretary was in the city reviewing obstructs that are hampering the growth of industries in these cities. He said that top officers of three industrial development authorities in the district apprised him the technicalities and the government will now consider to remove them so that industry will grow up resulting creation of more jobs.

Kumar said that they have also discussed issues of development of green field airports with the nodal agency and now are in process of fixing a dead line for completion of project so that the development can be speed up.
