COA, BCCI on collision course on the issue of Champions Trophy pull out

New Delhi: The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) to run the affairs of the BCCI will move the apex court if the BCCI general body takes any decision which is "against the interest of Indian cricket" at its meeting on May 7. The COA has disclosed its intent in a letter to the state units.

The COA missive comes in the backdrop of the expectation that the BCCI was seriously mulling a pullout from the Champions Trophy in England next month.The COA is of the view that such a decision cannot be taken without its consent.

New Delhi: A truce was reached between the warring factions of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)on Wednesday but the "terms of agreement" look tobe too fragile to make it last long. Emerging from the meeting Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that by suspending Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, whose public attack on party leader Kumar Vishwas had precipitated the crisis, and appointing Vishwas in-charge of Rajasthan, peace had returned. The MLA had earlier asked to resign from AAP's political affairs committee to placate Vishwas.

Indian boxers put up credible performance at Asian championship

New Delhi: Fourth seed Shiva Thapa (60kg) advanced to the Asian Boxing Championship quarterfinals with a hard-fought victory, in Tashkent on Tuesday.

Shiva, a World Championships bronze-medallist and a two- time medallist at the Asian meet, edged past Kyrgyzstan's Omurbek Malabekov in a split verdict to make the last-eight stage.

Shiva will face Chinese Taipei's Chu-En Lai in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
