New Delhi: Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army Lietenant General AK Bhatt spoke to his Pakistani counterpart on Tuesday expressing grave concern over the incident of intrusion by Pakistani special forces and beheading two Indian soldiers. The DGMO conveyed his concerns over the presence of Border Action Team training camps near Line of Control. Lt. Gen. AK Bhatt said, such dastardly and inhuman act is beyond the norms of civility and deserves unequivocal condemnation and response.
Gen Bhatt charged Pakistan of providing full fire support from an army post located in the vicinity of the incident site. In a related development, Union Finance Minister ArunJaitley met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting between the Prime Minister and Defence Minister Jaitleycames in the backdrop of mutilation of bodies of two Indian soldiers by Pakistan Army along the LoC.
The BSF, whose constable was also killed with an Indian Army soldier, attack on Indian troops from across the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir has said involvement of Pakistani state in the move was evident. Talking to reporters in Jammu, Additional Director General, BSF Western Command KN Choubey said, the firing at the troops from four sides across the LoC and two ambushes accompanied by the Border Action Team's attack simultaneously made it clear that the attack was well-planned and coordinated.
Choubey said, the Indian Army and BSF will take all possible measures so that such attacks could not take place in future. He said, BSF, deployed along the LoC under the supervision of the Indian Army, has been combating the infiltration attempts very effectively.
