New Delhi: Analysis of patients examined at a camp in Ghaziabad has revealed that arthritis patients can get rid of medicines. Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital in Kaushambi on Sunday last organised a one-day free arthritis and rheumatology consultation camp by senior Rheumatologist of Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital, Dr. Souvik Das Gupta, formerly at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Free consultation was provided to more than 100 patients who participated in the camp, Dr. Souvik Das Gupta informed the patients, that rheumatoid arthritis and disease can be identified through tests and the side effects of this can change the routine of life and proper treatment advice, medicines, and other advanced methods can stop the progression of the disease, Dr. Souvik has also said that rheumatic disease can be found in children also, It can be prevented by sending the patient to the Rheumatology consultant at the right time.
In the camp, the patients told that they are mainly suffering from pain in joints, stiffness with pain in morning joints, pain in the heel of the foot, joint locks, especially in the knee and elbows (the inability to move), forming a solid node under the affected area near the affected joint, the complication of severe pain in the joints at night. Dr. Souvik advised the patients that 40% of patients having rheumatoid arthritis, they can be relieved of medicines by providing proper treatment. Nearly 25 patients found that lubricant was found to be finished or decreased.
56-year-old Mrs. Raj Kumari (name changed) told that she is not able to hold even a gas lighter due to illness, and in many patients, the amount of uric acid was found to be increased. Mrs. Kamla (changed name) resident of Lumbini Kaushambi told that she has been suffering from Rehumatoid Arthritis for the last 15 years and she used to consult Dr. Souvik Das Gupta for consultation at the All India Institute, New Delhi, and when she came to know that Dr. Suvik is now available full time at Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital, Kaushambi and is offering his services, she came to consult her.
