Pulmonary Diseases Physician from Ghaziabad Accorded Global Honour

New Delhi: Dr.Arjun Khanna who is a chest physician at Yashoda Superspeciality hospital Kaushambi, Ghaziabad has bagged the coveted Global Rising Star in Pulmonary Medicine award at the 6th International workshop on Lung Health organised at Nice, France in January 2019. He was selected amongst many global competitors based on his academic records and scientific paper presentations. After a difficult selection process where many interesting abstracts of researches came from all over the world and were evaluated, the board decided to present Dr Arjun Khanna the Rising Stars of the 6th International Workshop on Lung Health.

The Rising Stars had the opportunity to present their valuable work for the first time in front of an International audience and Dr Arjun Khanna was one of them to present his research on 19th January, 2019 at Nice, on behalf of our country. Dr Khanna presented his data on Bio-mass fuel associated COPD which affects many Indian ladies who cook on angithis and chullahs. Most of the patients are unsuspecting non smoker females. The diagnosis of COPD is commonly missed in these patients, they present late in the course of disease and have poor health seeking behavior.

Dr Khanna was awarded the certificate and scholarship by world leaders in respiratory medicine , who appreciated his work. Dr Khanna is the first Indian to have ever won this award. Dr Khanna is one of the few DM in Pulmonary medicine in the country and has been a university gold medalist throughout his medical career.

Dr Arjun Khanna’s primary research focuses on Interstitial Lung diseases, Advanced COPD/Respiratory failure, Pulmonary Infections, Sleep Medicine. Dr ARJUN KHANNA is MD, DM, DNB in Pulmonary Medicine and currently Consultant at center of Excellence for Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital , Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, UP.
