New Delhi:Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO has launched its OPPO A77 smartphone in Taiwan featuring an impressive 16-megapixel selfie camera and 4GB of RAM at 10,990 Taiwanese dollar which translates to approximately Rs 23,400. According to DipankarGanguly in 'Gadgets | Software | Apps', the smartphone is listed on the company's Taiwanese website and will be available for pre-orders starting May 19 while the shipments will be done after the official availability from May 26.
Talking about the specifications, the OPPO A77 gets a 5.5-inch FullHD (1080x1920 pixels) In-Cell display and flaunts a metal unibody design with a thickness of just 7.3mm, at a weight of 153 grams.
Under the hood, processing duties are handled by the MediaTek's MT6750T Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. It is paired with impressive 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, with an option for further storage expansion by up to 128GB using a microSD card.
Coming to the highlighted feature of the OPPO A77 which is its onboard optics, it carries a 13-megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus, f/2.2 aperture lens and dual LED flash. There is a larger 16-megapixel secondary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies and video chats. The OPPO A77's camera interface is also loaded with features like Beautify 4.0 and background blur effect which creates a DSLR-like depth-of-field effect while in portrait mode.
On the connectivity front, the OPPO A77 gets hybrid dual-SIM support with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. The handset also houses a fingerprint sensor at its front, embedded into the home button.
Sadly, the OPPO A77 still runs the older Google's Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow wrapped under ColorOS 3.0 operating system and is fuelled by a 3200mAh battery.
The OPPO A77 will be made available in two colours– Gold and Rose Gold and will be up for sale in Taiwan via pre-orders, starting tomorrow.
