
New Delhi: Former Gujarat Chief Minister and former leader of Congress legislative party Shankersinh Vaghela has resigned from the Legislative Assembly. Mr. Vaghela submitted his resignation to the Speaker Ramanlal Vora Wednesday evening.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel were present on the occasion. Mr. Vaghela had announced his resignation from Congress party last month. Talking to media persons after his resignation, Mr. Vaghela clarified that he is neither going to retire from the politics, nor going to join any political party.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani while replying to a media query about his presence, said when a senior person like Mr Vaghela steps down as MLA, courtesy demands that we should remain present on the occassion.
