“Display of the status of vehicle fitness will help enforcement agencies to identify the non-compliant ones quickly. Currently, all these details are linked to the registration number and either you have to check the status of fitness by seeking a physical document or by keying in the registration number in Vahan, the registered vehicle database,” said an official.
As per the proposed norm, in case of trucks, buses, mini-trucks or cargo vehicles and cars, this will have to be exhibited on the upper edge of the left side of the windscreen in yellow on blue background. For three-wheelers, e-rickshaw, e-cart and quadricycle, this will need to be exhibited on the upper edge of the left side of the wind screen or on the conspicuous part of the vehicle. In case of motorcycles, it shall be exhibited on the conspicuous part of the vehicle.
