Digvijaya Singh claims women over 40 impressed by PM Modi, not jeans-clad girls

The BJP objected to Digvijaya Singh's statement about PM Modi, saying the Congress leader "has lost his mental balance".

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma said, "Digvijaya Singh has lost his mental balance with his age. He has this low level of thinking about women. Digvijaya Singh is now passing through a phase of madness. I ask Sonia Gandhi why such a person is kept in the party? This is the same Digvijay Singh who had called Meenakshi Natarajan, a former Congress MP, as Tanch Mal. Women are worshipable and revered, doing politics in their name does not suit."

On Saturday, Digvijaya Singh had targeted Sarvakar, claiming that he never considered a cow as 'maata' and had no problem with consuming beef.

"Veer Savarkar, in his book, said that Hinduism has nothing to do with Hindutva. He never considered cow as 'maata' and had no problem in consuming beef," Digvijaya Singh said at a Congress event in Bhopal.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi slammed Digvijaya Singh for his remark on Veer Savarkar. "Digvijaya Singh made a very irresponsible statement. Now that he doesn't have any major role in Congress party's decision making, he's saying all this to be in the limelight. It's utter rubbish," Joshi was quoted as saying by ANI.
