Kejriwal to speak on allegations in special Assembly session

in DNDNews

Khabar Bureau
The Delhi Assembly will hold a special session on Tuesday afternoon where Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to speak for the first time after being accused by sacked Minister Kapil Mishra of taking Rs 2 crore cash from a cabinet colleague, a charge denied by the AAP. The session is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and lots of fireworks are expected on the floor of the 70-member House as Mishra and Kejriwal may come face-to-face for the first time since the allegation was made on Sunday. The BJP is expected to corner the ruling AAP during the one-day session over Mishra's charges. The AAP is also likely to raise the issue of alleged EVM manipulations in Delhi civic body polls. Kejriwal has not spoken about the charges made by Mishra. But on Monday night he tweeted that truth will prevail. "The truth will emerge victorious. It will begin from the special Delhi Assembly session tomorrow (Tuesday)," the Chief Minister wrote. Mishra has questioned Kejriwal's integrity and accused him of taking Rs 2 crore in cash from Health Minister Satyendar Jain, of shielding people linked to a 2012 water tanker scam and being party to a land deal that benefited his relative. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has denied the charges.  Jain, rejecting Mishra's allegations, said on Monday that "no deal took place" between him and Kejriwal and the sacked Minister was just making an "attempt to defame the AAP". "He (Mishra) says Kejriwal's brother-in-law was to get the favour from a deal. It is shameful and disgusting. The person (brother-in-law) who has died, he is making allegation about a man who is dead," Jain said. Mishra was on Monday night suspended from the party's primary membership.

Kapil Mishra seeks CM's blessings,AAP Promises Big Newsbreak At 2 PM

in DNDNews

Khabar Bureau
Suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Kapil Mishra announced today that he was going to file FIRs or police complaints against his boss Arvind Kejriwal, dramatically seeking his blessings and forgiveness before "the biggest step of my life". "Bless me… I am filing an FIR against you," Mishra said, addressing the media in Delhi and reading out a letter he wrote to the AAP convener. Mishra also alleged that Kejriwal was trying to remove him as an MLA. "You are trying to remove me from assembly, I challenge you to contest the elections against me," he said, challenging Kejriwal to resign and contest the election against him, adding that he knew every 'trick' and 'step' of the Delhi CM. On Monday, Mishra went to the Anti Crime Branch and submitted what he claimed was evidence against Kejriwal in a scam. He added that the ACB has asked him to visit their office once again in a few days. Later in the day, he dared the party to expel him, which the party did, suspending him from the primary membership of the party. Mishra claims that he saw Kejriwal take Rs 2 crore in cash from Satyendra Jain, another minister in the Delhi government, at his Delhi residence.  Late Monday evening, Kejriwal tweeted, breaking his silence on the allegation. "Truth will win. Tomorrow's special session of the Delhi Assembly is where it begins," he said. Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, reacting to the developments this morning, questioned whether anyone is allowed to dissent against Kejriwal in the Aam Aadmi Party. "Where is the internal democracy in the AAP? The basic premises have been compromised with. It is worse than other political parties and is functioning under the dictatorship of Arvind Kejriwal," Maken said. Last evening, Mr Kejriwal, accused by Mr Mishra of bribery, broke his silence in a tweet, saying: "truth will prevail". A special one-day sitting of the Delhi assembly today would mark the beginning, he commented. Ankit Lal, who is heads AAP's IT and Innovation cell, had last night tweeted, "No. @ArvindKejriwal is not resigning. But it's something bigger than this...Watch out...today, 2pm, Delhi assembly!"

India not favoured by rating agencies, fumes economic secretary

in DNDNews

Khabar Bureau
New Delhi:Upset over not getting a rating upgrade, India has lashed out at global rating agencies saying they are far detached from ground realities and must introspect as the reforms initiated certainly warranted an upgrade.
According to media reports from Japan, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said India was being denied an upgrade even as growth and fundamentals improve. In the past too, India has questioned the methodology used by global rating agencies, saying that the nation compares favourably with other emerging countries on metrics such as default risk. In particular, it points to S&P Global Ratings keeping China at AA- despite rising debt and slowing growth while India has been kept at one step above junk.
