India, Mauritius pen four agreements including one on maritime security

New Delhi:India and Mauritius on Saturday signed four agreements after delegation-level talks between Prime Minister NarendraModi and his Mauritius counterpart Pravind Kumar Jugnauth. The agreements include New Delhi extending a 500 million dollar line of credit to Mauritius. In his address, after signing of the agreements, Modi said, the line of credit is an example of India’s strong and continuing commitment to the development of the island nation.

CBSE relents, Class 12 results to be declared on Sunday

The CBSE Class 12 results will be declared on Sunday, May 28. Declaration of the date has come as a relief to over 11 lakh students who had appeared for the examination this year. 
The Central Board of Secondary Education had conducted the class 12 examinations on March and April months this year. The results are being declared one week later than last year as the board was indecisive in the wake of Delhi High Court ruling against its scrapping of the moderation policy.

Ceremonial reception for Mauritius PM at Rashtrapati Bhawan

Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth was given a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi this morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. He is on a three-day state visit to India. 
Jugnauth paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Jugnauth. 
Prime Minister Modi and his Mauritian counterpart will hold delegation-level talks in New Delhi this afternoon. Agreements are expected to be signed after the meeting. The two leaders will also make a joint media statement.

Ban on sale/purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter

The government on Friday clamped a ban on the sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter with a notification through the Environment Ministry. The government has taken the step ostensible with the welfare of the animals in mind. 
The ministry notified the stringent ‘Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Regulation of Livestock Markets) Rules, 2017’ under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
