New Delhi: A neck and neck contest was being witnessed in the UK parliamentary polls, which voted on Thursday. The early trends of the snap UK general elections result showed Labour party leading over rival Conservative. However, historically Labour have always led early but not always been able to maintain that lead. This came true by afternoon as Conservatives overtook Labour, though through a slender lead. However, Sterling saw its biggest daily fall since January after an exit poll unexpectedly showed Prime Minister Theresa May losing her parliamentary majority.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh remained tense on Thursday as Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi entered the state through Rajasthan to meet the families of the farmers. He was, later, taken into custody by the police in Neemuch district.

In the meanwhile Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhupendra Singh admitted that police firing killed farmers during their agitation in Mandsaur district on Tuesday. Singh clarified that his earlier comment was based on the initial report. He said, even officers were not aware of the facts at that time.

New Delhi: Peace and calm returned in most of the farmer’s agitation affected areas including Mandsour and Neemuch. However prohibitory orders were imposed in Shajapur on Thursday after violent protests.

Prohibitory orders have also been imposed in Dewas. In Mandsour town, curfew was relaxed for two hours for women and children last evening. 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed farmers to maintain peace. He said he will continue to work in the interest of farmers. 

New Delhi: Special Investigation team, SIT of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested BhimSena Chief Chandrashekhar allegedly responsible for recent Saharanpur violence. He has been arrested from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh.

FIR is lodged against him for provoking Dalit community for violence and collection of money using social media and posting fake posts. Police had announced reward of Rs12000 on his head.
