New Delhi: A gunbattle broke out at DPS Srinagar in the wee hours of Sunday as security forces launched an
offensive to flush out terrorists who took refuge inside the school after attacking CRPF personnel in Panthachowk area on Saturday evening. A police official said, the exchange of firing between security forces and terrorists began around 3.40 AM and is going on intermittently.

Delhi University Notifies First List; Admission Cut-Off Marks Lowered

New Delhi: After three days' delay, Delhi University late on Friday finally announced its first cut-off list for admission to the under-graduate courses. Contrart to the trend, the top colleges in DU have come out with a comparatively lower cut-off this time. Sri Guru TeghBahadurKhalsa College saw the highest cut-off with 99.6 percent for BSc (Hons) Electronics, followed by Political Science at 98.25 per cent for Economics (Hons).

In midst of morning Namaz, cop stoned to death outside Srinagar mosque

New Delhi: A deputy superintendent of Jammu & Kashmir Police was stoned to death by an irate outside Jamia Masjid, Srinagar in the early hours on Friday. The is the second killing of J&K police personnel during the ongoing month of Ramzan.

The police officer Mohammad AyubPandit, deputy superintendent in Security wing of police,was on duty when the mob attacked him, a police spokesman said. DGP S P Vaid termed the killing as sad and unfortunate.
