New Facebook To Remind Eligible Voters To Get Enrolled With The Poll Panel

New Delhi: In yet another impetus to its “No Voter to be left behind” motto, Election Commission of India has roped in social media giant Facebook to remind eligible Indian voters to get themselves enrolled from next month.   

Facebook has over 180 million people in India on Facebook, which will now have the 'Register Now' button designed to encourage Indian citizens to register themselves with the Election Commission of India.

Linking Aadhaar with PAN card made mandatory from July 1

New Delhi: The Government has made it mandatory to link existing Aadhaar numbers with Permanent Account Number (PAN) of taxpayers with effect from July 1.

Amending income tax rules and notifying the same, the Government has also made quoting of the 12-digit biometric Aadhaar or the enrolment ID a must at the time of application of permanent account number (PAN).

DDA to launch sale of unsold, new flats under PMAY from June 30

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority will launch its much-awaited housing scheme on June 30. Close to 12,000-plus flats -a majority of which were returned by allottees of a 2014 housing scheme — will be up for sale.
The scheme has been linked with the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna which means people fulfilling the criteria will get subsidy in the interest when they take a bank loan.

Police stations to act as cradles for abandoned children

New Delhi: Offering a solution to hapless parents who abandoned their babies in dumpsters, hedges, train tracks and even rivers or lakes where few of them survive, government will now provide hope to parents as they can now make a more humane choice.
The Women and Child Development Ministry is setting up cradles at police stations, hospitals, and orphanages across the country where parents can leave their child for adoption. Cradles will be accompanied by a bell which helps parents who are unable to bring up their newborns to notify the authorities at the premises after dropping off the child.

Despite overtures in Washington Modi refuses to break ranks on Paris dead in The Hague

New Delhi: Prime Minister NarendraModi and Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Tuesday reassured their countries' pledge towards Paris agreement on climate change.

The top two leaders also took a resolve to strengthen collaboration in renewable energy sector during their informal discussion at Dutch Prime Minister's residence at The Hague.Earlier, Prime Minister Modi said Netherlands is a natural partner in India's economic growth.
