China vows to crush Taiwan 'independence', India finds jet debris

Just days before polls in Taiwan, the Chinese military has warned that it would 'crush' any attempts for 'Taiwan independence'. In other news, the debris of Indian Air Force An-32 K-2743 aircraft which had gone missing in 2016 has been found in the Bay of Bengal. Read this and more in our Top 10 world news.

China's statement came a day before the scheduled polls on the self-ruled island, which Beijing claims is part of its territory.

On July 22, 2016 the aircraft went missing en route Port Blair to Chennai. All 29 people were presumed dead or missing.

The aviation agency has already opened a probe into Alaska Airlines incident involving Boeing 737 MAX 9 which lost part of its fuselage midair creating a near-catastrophic situation.

The Council of Ministers, led by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, convened on Friday to consider the appeal from Hindu socio-cultural groups. Responding favourably, the government recognised the cultural significance of the Ram Mandir inauguration and acknowledged the importance of facilitating the participation of devotees in the celebrations
