Vanta Black Magic: World’s Darkest Building Unveiled For Winter Olympics Pavilion

New Delhi: With winter Olympics here, Pyeongchangmay be dyed with snow, but with so much milky white city what stands differently is the darkest hole of the whole Universe.

A ground-breaking building designed for the Winter Olympics is so dark it looks like a slice of Space. The Hyundai Pavilion in PyeongChang is the blackest building ever, thanks to high-tech paint that plays tricks on the eyes.

Designed by architect Asif Khan, the structure has been spray-painted with the blackest black matt paint ever. ‘VantablackVBx 2’ is the spray-paint version of Vantablack, the blackest possible pigment. It absorbs an incredible 99 percent of light, making it look like no other black.

Over 150 delegates from India and abroad participates in 3rd Inter National Conf in IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

New Delhi : Over 150 techies from various renowned institutions of Indiaand abroad participated in a three-day long International conference on ‘Microwave and Photonics’ in the premises of IIT-ISM atDhanbaddistrict of Jharkhand on Friday.

It was organized by the Department of Electronics Engineering IIT – ISM, with the technical co-sponsorship of IEEE Photonics Society, IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society, IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society and Optical Society of America (OSA).

The financial sponsorship support was extended by Jharkhand CST, SERB DST, DRDO, ISRO, CSIR, BRNSand JV Micronics.

Panic Button Omen For Mobile users Fail Another Trial Deadline

New Delhi:The Central Government way back on 22nd April, 2016, had announced that all mobile phones manufactured in the country starting from January 1, 2017, must come equipped with a “Panic Button” for the safety of women.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development observed that in order to provide safety to women in distress situation, it is important to enable them to send out distress signal to a family member or the police authorities so that they can be rescued.

A woman in distress does not have more than a second or two to send out a distress message in the event of a physical/sexual assault. Hence after due deliberation, it was agreed to have a panic button installed in all the mobile phones being sold in the country.

Telecom Secy Says Telcos Have Committed Over Rs 74,000 Crore To Curb Call Drops

New Delhi: Leading telecom operators, including Bharti Airteland Reliance Jio, have committed to investing over Rs 74,000 crore to upgrade and expand their infrastructure to address the issue of call drops.

Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said,"Telecom operators raised issue of non-availability of sites for installing mobile towers along with some other problems.”

"Bharti Airtel said that they have invested Rs 16,000 crore on infrastructure and will be spending another Rs 24,000 crore. Reliance Jio has said that they will invest Rs 50,000 in installing 1 lakh towers in coming fiscal," Sundararajan told reporters after meeting senior officials of telecom companies.

India Home To 25% Of Engineers In World, Says The National Science Foundation Report

New Delhi:When it comes to producing Bachelors in Science Engineering, India is at the top of the world, a recent report has revealed. This news could be a positive indication for hundreds of Indian students, parents, and policy-makers. 

As per the numbers from a 2014 study, which was released now, India accounts for 25% of the estimated 75 lakh science and engineering bachelor's degrees awarded across the world in 2014, the maximum in the world, the report says.

 However, the US tops the charts in research and development spending and awarded the largest number of science and engineering doctoral degrees (40,000) in 2014, theannual Science and Engineering Indicators 2018 report of the National Science Foundation added.
