Google List Of Best Android Apps For 2017 Has Many Surprises

APP 1
New Delhi: December is upon us and Google has revealed its annual list of top Android apps of the year, some of which may come off as surprising picks.

The Best of 2017 list includes applications from various categories including the best app, most entertaining app and many other categories. There are many applications which you might have not even heard of or which might come to you as a surprise pick. That means the list is full of new entries to the Play Store that many Android users probably don't know about.

Even besides the most popular titles, Google also curated its own list of favourites, which may not have been among the most downloaded titles, but were ones the company's editors picked as standouts in various categories.

So, if you are an Android user, here are the best Android apps of 2017, according to Google.

Socratic:

APP 2

Math Answers and Homework help. Google has named Socratic its number one app of the year. The tutoring app, which is available for free on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, is designed to help you complete your homework.

It specialises in a wide range of subjects, including maths, history, economics, English, chemistry and biology, and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you understand and work through problems.

All you need to do is take a photo of your homework and upload it to Socratic. The app will automatically recognise the problem and provide step-by-step guidance on how to solve it. Also, you can chat with your peers and share your notes with them.

Google says Socratic “blew us away this year — cleverly conceived, beautifully designed, and wonderfully useful.”

PicsArt Animator:

APP 3

Gif & Video has been listed as the most entertaining application of 2017. With this application on your phone, you can create cartoon videos, GIFs, and even emojify yourself. What’s more is that you can also voice over.

Like- Magic Special Effect Video Editor:

APP 4

It has been registered as the Best Social app of the year. This is basically a video editing application with special features. Simply, record a video and then add funny stickers and effects in your video. Yes, you can do all this. Once you have edited your video, you can happily share it online.

Pinterest:

APP 5

Pinterest has occupied the category of Most Innovative application. Research, organize and share your ideas and objects which you had found offline. Find inspiration, share it with others.

Side chef:

APP 6

Google has also listed an app, which can help us and make our tasks a bit easier. The Best Daily Helper category has gone to Side chef- step-by-step cooking. This application will make cooking a bit easier with quality recipes and voice commands to navigate through them. The app will provide you with a quality recipe with beautiful imagery and informative ingredients.

Improve English:

APP 8

Word Games application has grabbed the title of Best Hidden Gem. This is a new application and has been building a fan base, but what’s special is that is wonderful and unconventional. This application will help you to improve your English with simple exercises, interesting games and reminders.
In other categories, Google's pick for the best game of the year was CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars, a complex, but addictive game from the creators of the hit games "Cut the Rope" and "King of Thieves."

On the other hand, ‘Photo Editor - Beauty Camera & Photo Filters’ topped Google's list of the top five most popular new apps this year; followed by ‘What the Forecast?’ and ‘Boomerang’.

Elsewhere on the list, Google revealed the most downloaded movies, TV shows, and books, which will likely come as little surprise. The most popular movie was Moana, the most popular TV show was Game of Thrones, and the most popular book was Mark Manson's The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck.

This way, the company created its list of Android apps that were popular, inventive and offered something completely different from any of its competitors.
