After a one-month break post the debacle of the World Test Championship final, India have travelled to West Indies for a full-fledged tour, beginning with two tests , with the first game on July 12. Rohit Sharma and co. will be looking to bounce back after the WRC final loss, and have already begun preparations for facing the Carribean side at their own backyard. One of the greatest all-rounders in history, Sir Garfield 'Gary' Sobers came to meet the India players at their camp, and had a special interaction with young batting sensation Shubman Gill.

Sobers was all smiles as he met all the players of the Indian side. India head coach Rahul Dravid then came in and introduced Shubman Gill to the legendary West Indian all-rounder, as 'one of the most exciting talents.' To this, Gary Sobers gladly shook the young opener's hand and said that he had seen him play. "I saw about you," Sobers replied.

Sobers also met the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin.

India and West Indies play two Test Matches against the West Indies as they begin their campaign in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. The first Test is set to be played in Windsor Park in Dominica, while the second match will be played at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad. The Test squad for this series has marked a significant shift towards focusing on youngsters as the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have earned their maiden Test call ups, while Cheteshwar Pujara has been left out.
