New Delhi: The Centre has asked the Aam Aadmi Party into furnish details of its overseas funding. The Home Ministry asked the party to explain certain fundings from abroad after suspected violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.

Official sources said, the communication was part of its routine queries sent to a few other political parties regarding overseas funding to them.

The sources said, it was not a show cause notice and a decision on it would be taken only after the party submits its reply. Reacting to this, the AamAadmi Party said in a statement that it was a clear case of political witch hunt.
