Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is presiding over a crucial state cabinet meeting at the CM residence auditorium. The meeting focuses on the completion of legislative tasks related to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) report.

Following the completion of legislative procedures, the cabinet is set to approve the UCC report during this session. Subsequently, the UCC bill is slated to be presented in the Assembly on February 6.

The Uttarakhand government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, convened a cabinet meeting on Saturday to deliberate on and approve the draft of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

If adopted, Uttarakhand would become the first state in the country to implement the UCC.

Chief Minister Dhami, addressing reporters after the meeting, mentioned that various issues were discussed, and in the ongoing session, they intend to introduce the UCC as soon as the necessary formalities are completed.

This development follows the submission of a comprehensive document by a government-appointed panel, chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai, on Friday. Chief Minister Dhami expressed that the "long-awaited moment has arrived."
