Activist Manoj Jarange on Thursday agreed to end his indefinite fast for Marastha quota. The development came after a delegation of retired high court judges Sandeep Shinde, M G Gaikwad and others including officials met Jarange.

During the discussion, Jarange reiterated his demand of reservation for Marathas across Maharashtra. He demanded "full proof reservation" and asked the state government to give him their "word" on it.

The discussion with the retired judged took place in front of the media. Jarange demanded that the government should deploy teams for the survey of the economic and social backwardness of the Maratha community.

"Justice Shinde committee will be free to work across Maharashtra and they will collect the all detailed documents related to kunbi certificates. On the basis of that report you should give kunbi certificates to all Marathas. And it should not be half heartedly," Jarange said.

He added, "We need full proof reservation. Give me word. If you will break your promise, then I will not give a single minute to government."
