#PM Modi Promises To Make India Third-Largest Economy In The World

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday promised to make India the third-largest economy in the world in his third innings.

The projects that were inaugurated or whose foundation stones were laid covered different areas, namely drinking water supply, critical care unit in trauma centre, roads, electricity, Ganga ghat, railways, airport and solar energy.

Modi flagged off four trains, including the second Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to New Delhi on the occasion.

#9 Killed In Blast At Explosives Manufacturing Factory In Nagpur; Angry Locals, Kin Of Workers Block Road

Nine people were killed and three others injured in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory in Maharashtra's Nagpur district on Sunday. The explosion occurred at 9 am in a cast booster unit of the Solar Industries factory in Bazaargaon, situated about 30 km from the district headquarters.

Following the blast, a crowd of nearly 200 people, comprising locals and relatives of the factory workers, gheraoed the factory's entrance gate and raised slogans, news agency PTI reported. Expressing anger and grief, they demanded access to the premises to see the bodies. The police later dispersed the crowd.

#Jaishankar Targets UNSC: 'Like an old club, set members don't want to let go of the grip'

External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Sunday took a jibe at the United Nations Security Council saying that it is like an "old club" where member nations are unwilling to admit new members.

Addressing an event at the Rotary Institute 2023 in Bengaluru, Jaishankar remarked that the "club" members prefer not to have their methods scrutinized.

"Security Council is like an old club, where there are set members who don't want to let go of the grip. They want to keep control over the club. Not very keen to admit more members, not keen to have their practices questioned," Jaishankar said.

#Arunachal’s Parshuram Kund to be Developed Like Ayodhya, Kamakhya, Locals Welcome Move

The Centre, in an effort to shift focus towards the Northeast, has decided to revive religious tourism in the region, beginning from Arunachal Pradesh.

In the state’s Tezu, the government has decided to develop ‘Parshuram Kund’ on Lohit River as a Hindu pilgrimage spot. Sources from the administration told News18 that grand plans have been made to revamp the ‘Kund’ on the lines of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kamakhya.

An officer from the tourism department told News18: “We are now focusing on tourism. A huge number of people come here on Sankranti so we will have a proper place for them to stay. Three separate buildings for rest house and dining are being made.”

#Parliament Breach ‘Prime Conspirator’ Lalit Jha Sent To 7-Day Police Custody

A Delhi court on Friday sent Lalit Jha, the key accused arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach case, to seven-day police custody for in-depth interrogation to unearth the entire conspiracy.

Special Judge Hardeep Kaur remanded Jha in Delhi Police's custody after Public Prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh said the accused has “confessed” that he is the “prime conspirator” in the case and that Jha was required to be taken to various states to recover evidence. Singh further stated that his phones need to be recovered to uncover the conspiracy.
