Indian scientist nominated for Green Oscars

New Delhi:Wildlife conservationist Purnima Devi Barman will be conferred with prestigious Whitley Awards 2017 in London today. Among 169 researchers from 66 countries, she has been selected for this prestigious award, which is commonly known as the Green Oscars. 

Purnima has been selected for her relentless efforts and campaigns for the conservation of the Greater Adjutant Stork locally known as Haargila in Assam. Whitley awards are made annually by the Whitley Fund for Nature to recognize and celebrate effective national and regional conservation leaders across the globe
