Civil Aviation Minister Scindia Asks Airlines For International Connectivity to Ayodhya, Surat

An advisory group meeting, led by the Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia was conducted on Tuesday with key representatives from the airline industry to discuss services and performance of airlines.

To bolster the connectivity of tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Ayodhya and Surat with international destinations, Scindia asked airlines to submit individual aircraft induction as well as deployment plans for the next six months. He also advised that airlines must focus on point-to-point direct connectivity, and thus, ramp up capacities with wide-body and narrow-body-long-range aircraft.

Harvard University's governing board has announced that it will support president Claudine Gay and won't ask her to step down. The decision has been made public a day after its meeting to weigh in the backlash following her remarks at last week's congressional hearing.

The Harvard Corporation, the university's governing body, in a statement reaffirmed its support for Harvard President Claudine Gay's continued leadership.

"Our extensive deliberations affirm our confidence that President Gay is the right leader to help our community heal and to address the very serious societal issues we are facing," the 11-member board wrote.
