The 'Mehangai Hatao Rally' by the Congress, which was scheduled to be held in Delhi on December 12, has now been shifted to Jaipur after permission for holding the rally at Dwarka was allegedly cancelled. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal alleged that the cancellation of the permission shows a "prejudiced conspiracy" by the Modi government.

Through the mega rally, the Congress looks to corner the Narendra Modi-led government over inflation and price rise. The 'Mehangai Hatao Rally' will be addressed by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other Congress leaders from across the country.

Following the withdrawal of permission to hold rally in Delhi, KC Venugopal said that the Congress has now decided that the 'Mahangai Hatao Rally' will be organised in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on December 12 itself.

Venugopal added, "Congress under leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had decided to organise a massive 'Mahangai Hatao Rally' on December 12 with an aim of waking up the slumbering government to the perils being faced by the people of India including the skyrocketing price of essential commodities. The party will keep raising the voice of the people and keep fighting their battles."

He further added, "Congress Party had asked for permission for holding this rally. Modi government after much effort agreed for a rally to be held in Dwarka, Delhi. Now, even as the party was involved in organising a massive public show, the Modi government in a prejudiced conspiracy got the Lt Governor of Delhi to cancel permission for the 'Mahangai Hatao Rally' at Dwarka."
