
New Delhi:FIRs have been registered under sedition charges against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan over the controversial remarks he made against the Indian Army. Complaints have been lodged in Lucknow and Rampur districts.
According to media reports quoting police sources, BJP leader Akash Kumar Saxena registered FIR in Civil Lines Police Station in Rampur against Khan for his alleged controversial statement against the Indian soldiers. He has attached press clippings with his complaints.
A social activist JanakiSharanPandey has also lodged complaint against Mr Khan at Hazaratganj police station in Lucknow. Khan's comments triggered an angry reaction from the entire political fraternity. However, Khan has said that his statement was misconstrued by media.
