Minor smoke in Delhi Metro train triggers panic among passengers

Smoke caused by sparks in the last coach of a Delhi Metro train sent panic among passengers at the Rajiv Chowk station. The train was immediately evacuated.
The incident occurred at 10.20 am when the Samaypur Badli-bound train was entering Rajiv Chowk. While the train was evacuated at the station instantaneously, the incident affected services on Yellow Line. No injury to any passenger reported. 
According to Metro officials, the smoke emanated from the air-conditioning vent of the last coach of a metro train. As a precaution, the train was evacuated at the station itself and passengers were accommodated in the next train," a Delhi Metro official said.

The train has been sent to the depot and the cause behind the smoke is being investigated. Train services have been restored to its normalcy on the line.
