The suspense over the chief ministerial face in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh still remains as the Bharatiya Janata Party sweeped the assembly polls in all the three states of the Hindi heartland on Sunday. 

The saffron party ousted the Congress party in Rajasthan winning 115 out of 199 seats and also unseated the Congress regime in Chhattisgarh bagging 54 out of 90 seats.

#BJP To Hold Key Meeting On Today As Buzz Over Cm Picks For 3 States Intensifies

The BJP will hold a crucial Parliamentary meeting on Thursday as suspense continues over the selection of chief ministers for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh where the party recently won the assembly elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with BJP MPs, will attend the meeting in the national capital, ANI reported.

Chouhan on Tuesday said that he has "never been a contender for the chief minister post".

#Cyclone Michaung Weakens Into Deep Depression, Nearly 40 Lakh People Affected

Cyclonic storm Michaung, after leaving a trail of destruction, weakened into a Deep Depression over Central Coastal Andhra Pradesh as it crossed the coast on Tuesday. The storm damaged 770-kilometre roads, uprooted 35 trees and killed three livestock, among others.

According to data shared by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's Office (CMO), nearly 40 lakh people from 194 villages and two towns were affected by Michaung's impact, including the inundation of 25 villages.
