After evicting Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan from a bungalow allotted to his late father Ram Vilas Paswan, the next big eviction on the government's radar is of former Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank from 27, Safdarjung Road, a bungalow that was allotted to Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia last year.

Sources said a team of Directorate of Estates personnel will be sent on Monday to begin eviction. Since Pokhriyal is no longer a minister, he is not eligible for a Type VIII accommodation, said sources.

Maharashtra minister of tourism and environment Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday took a dig at the BJP-led central government over the fuel price hike. "Assembly elections are over and now fuel prices have increased. We will have to wait till the next elections for the prices to reduce," he said while speaking to news agency ANI. In an eighth hike in nine days, the petrol and diesel prices in the country rose by another 80 paise per litre.

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday took a dig at the fuel price hike and requested the Election Commission to announce the schedule of upcoming state elections immediately. The Rajya Sabha member said that such an announcement will move fuel price from “deregulation to regulation mode” and bring relief to Indians hit by soaring prices.

The European Space Agency (ESA) will provide tracking for two big ticket missions set to be launched by India this year. The Indian Space and Research Organisation (Isro) is set to launch Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon and the maiden mission to the Sun, Aditya L-1.

The ESA said that its global deep-space communication antennas will provide essential support to both missions every step of the way, tracking the spacecraft, pinpointing their locations at crucial stages, transmitting commands, and receiving 'telemetry' and valuable science data.

Isro had signed an agreement with its European counterpart in 2021 to provide technical support to each other, including tracking and communication services using the European ground stations.

Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan today started vacating the bungalow allotted to his late father Ram Vilas Paswan after a government team reached earlier today to execute an eviction order issued to him last year. In a significant move, a meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to recommend the re-promulgation of the controversial ordinance that amended the Kerala Lokayukta Act, 1999.

Ministers belonging to the CPI(M), however, opposed the move during the Cabinet meet chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday.

The initial ordinance aimed at curbing the powers of the government ombudsman will expire on Friday. The ordinance will now again be sent to the Governor for approval.
