New Delhi:The Supreme Court today refused to give an urgent hearing on plea seeking Special Investigation Team, SIT, probe into violence at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
A vacation bench comprising Justices L. NageswaraRao and NavinSinha said there was no urgency and the petition may be heard after the summer break of court.
A plea filed by a lawyer sought urgent hearing, saying that the situation in the areas was critical and needed judicial intervention.
New Delhi:BJP President Amit Shah has said, former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be the party's chief ministerial face in the state Assembly polls scheduled early next year.
Talking to PTI, Shah also indicated that Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will be the BJP's choice for the top post in the state, asserting that it would win more than 150 seats in the Assembly polls slated later this year.
He, however, said the party has not yet decided on its chief ministerial face in Himachal Pradesh, which goes to polls along with Gujarat.

wo day after the Indian Air Force (IAF) Sukhoi fighter jet went missing, its wreckage has been found. But there is no word on its two pilots.
The Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet, which went missing on May 23 near the China border around 60km north-west of the Tezpur airbase in Assam, was found close to its last known position.
The Sukhoi, was flown by a squadron leader and a flight lieutenant, took off in a two-aircraft formation sortie from the Tezpur airbase at about 10.30 am on Tuesday last.
New Delhi:Delhi's Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has sought the opinion of the Central government's top auditor in connection with its probe in the alleged 400 rupees crore water tanker scam.
Official sources said, the Accountant General (Audit), Central Revenues, has been asked whether the rules for floating tenders were flouted for procurement of tankers. ACB chief Mukesh Kumar Meena confirmed the development, but did not divulge further details.
The anti-graft body has been probing the scam that dates back to the tenure of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. She was questioned by ACB officials over her alleged involvement in the case last August.
