Army neutralises another infiltration bid, one terrorist killed in Keran sector

New Delhi:An armed unidentified terrorist was killed after Army foiled infiltration bid in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday. Defence spokesman said that one weapon was recovered from the slain militant. He said the robust counter infiltration grid is consistently engaged in neutralising the infiltration attempts from across the LoC.

Security agencies on hot pursuit gun down another two militants in Kashmir

New Delhi: A joint team of Army and Police gunned down three terrorists in Pulwama district late on Wednesday night. On Tuesday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Sopore township of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.

Police said, the encounter took place in Kakapora area on Wednesday evening following intelligence input that three terrorists were holed up in a house located in a densely populated locality. Authorities have suspended internet services in Pulwama following the incident.

IIT-Goa director booked for disproportionate assets

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday registered a case against the Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Goa BaradaKanta Mishra for his allegedly possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of over Rs 1.14 crore.

He is former Director of the Bhubaneswar-based Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT). He is accused of graft during his stint at the IMMT in Bhubaneswar as its Director.

ISRO gets ready for second rocket launch during June

New Delhi:The 28-hour countdown for the launch of the PSLV C38 rocket carrying India’s Cartost-2 Series satellite and 30 other co-passenger payloads, begun on Thursday morning at 5.29 hours.
This is space agency ISRO’s  second launch during the month.It closely follows the recent successful maiden test flight of the GSLV Mark-III launch vehicle.
