#Indian Railways: To Resume Serving Cooked Meals On Trains

The Railways on Friday announced that they will be resuming cooked meals on trains, a service that was discontinued due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Railway Board in a letter asked the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to resume serving cooked meals to passengers on trains to restore normal train services as the pandemic-infused lockdown restrictions eased.

"In view of the restoration of normal train services, requirements of travelling passengers and easing of Covid lockdown restrictions in eateries, restaurants, hotels and such other places across the country, it has been decided by the Ministry of Railways to resume the services of cooked food in trains," the letter stated.

At the same time, ready-to-eat meals will continue to be served to passengers, the Railway board noted.

#Covid-19: Delhi Records 30 New Covid-19 Cases, Zero Deaths; Positivity Rate 0.05%

Delhi recorded zero death due to Covid-19 and 30 fresh cases of the infection with a positivity rate of 0.05 per cent on Friday, according to data shared by the city health department.

The total number of coronavirus cases stood at 14,40,605 in the national capital. Over 14.15 lakh patients have recovered from the infection.

The death toll due to the coronavirus infection in Delhi stands at 25,095.

Four fatalities have so far been reported in the city this month -- two on November 12 and one each on November 14 and November 15. Delhi reported four Covid-19 deaths in October and five in September.

#SafeTrade: India Deploys Naval Ship in Persian Gulf To Ensure Safety

India has deployed a naval ship in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman to ensure safe and secure movement of trade, instill confidence in the maritime community and contribute to regional maritime security.

"INS Trikand is currently deployed in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman as part of Operation Sankalp, the Indian Navy's effort to maintain a frontline ship in the region to ensure safe and secure movement of trade," said the Indian Navy.

The ship entered Manama, Bahrain, on November 13 for a three-day operational turn round (OTR). During her stay at the port, the ship engaged extensively with various maritime security agencies to enhance cooperation in all aspects of maritime security, including training and other mutually beneficial subjects.

#Irregularities: Supreme Court Orders CBI probe Into HZL Divestment In 2002

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered registration of a regular case for a full-fledged CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in the sale of 26% of government stake in Hindustan Zinc Ltd to Sterlite, a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group, for Rs 445 crore in 2002 when its value was alleged to be Rs 39,000 crore.

Faulting the closure of CBI’s preliminary enquiry (PE) despite listing numerous irregularities in the sale in the PSU while brushing aside the CAG’s critical report, a bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and BV Nagarathna ordered CBI to conduct full-fledged investigations into 18 suspicious grounds surrounding the deal.
