Jaitley files fresh Rs 10-crore defamation case against Kejriwal

With Union Minister Arun Jaitley filing a new Rs 10-crore suit against the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over an uncharitable remark used by Kejriwal's counsel Ram Jethmalani in court last week, the ongoing defamation case a fresh impetus. 
Jaitley filed the case in Delhi High Court over the word "crook" used by Jethlamalani during cross-examination stopped after an intense verbal duel between them.

Citing various terror attacks in the US, he said “America has suffered repeated barbaric attacks from the atrocities of September 11 to the devastation of the Boston bombings to the horrible killings in San Bernardino and Orlando. The nations of Europe have also endured unspeakable horror. So too have the nations of Africa and South America. India, Russia, China, and Australia have all been victims.”

Iranian elections see President Hassan Rouhani get second term

Incumbent Iran President Hassan Rouhani won the country’s presidential election that gave him a second four-year term. The victory gave him the second term to pursue his agenda to realize greater freedoms and outreach to the world.
Rouhani, 68, is a liberal face in Iranian politics who Iranians hope will achieve goals of reforms – greater political freedom and better relations with other countries.
In the election in which over 40 million electorates cast their vote, indicating a turnout of about 70 percent, President Rouhani defeated his hardline rival Ebrahim Raisi.

Campaigned against Bhushan, Yadav at Kejri’s instance: Kapil Mishra

NEW DELHI:  Apologising  Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan for once campaigning to oust them from the party, suspended AAP leader Kapil Mishra said he the “wrongdoings” at the instance of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
In 2015, Mishra had led a signature campaign by a number of AAP MLAs to sack the duo for "anti-party activities" who had questioned Kejriwal's style of functioning and were later sacked from the party.

Unique incentive to prevent migration from the hills of Uttarakhand

DEHRADUN: The 127 Eco Task Force Battalion of the Territorial Army (TA) has a unique plan to stop migration from the sensitive border areas of Uttarakhand. Conditions in the border region, especially Malarai which remains snow bound from December to April, are very harsh. During this period, locals shift to Joshimath, Chamoli and Gupteshwar. 
The migration (palayan as the locals call it) is not confined to the hills of Uttarakhand. In fact, is a nagging issue faced by the governments of all hill states of India.
