Feeling heat of Operation Prahar by security forces, Maoists hit back at four places

New Delhi: Maoists have unleashed four separate attacks on the security forces in tribal Bastar region in Chhattisgarh during the last 48 hours. Four security personnel, including a sub-inspector, were injured in two incidents as the forces were returning to their bases after a search operation. Two Maoists were killed in retaliatory action by the forces.

Mumbai braves torrential rains, city still on tracks

New Delhi: Mumbai and its suburban areas are witnessing substantial rainfall. According to the figures recorded by MeT department till 5.30 pm on Sunday, Colaba received 63.4 mm rainfall and Santacruz recorded 48.8 mm rainfall. BMC said the heavy rain has not affected the local train services nor any case of water logging have been reported in the city.

Gun Battle At DPS Srinagar Ends; Two Terrorists who Killed CRPF Cop Eliminated

New Delhi: The exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists holed up inside DPS, Srinagar has ended. According to reports two terrorists have been killed and their identity was being ascertained. Two Army personnel were also injured in the operation.

The terrorists had entered into the premises of DPS Srinagar on Saturday evening after carrying out an attack on CRPF personnel deployed on road opening duty near the school on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

Four of a family from Delhi killed in Gulmarg cable car accident

New Delhi: Seven people, including four tourists from Delhi and three tourist guides, were killed in a Gandola cable car accident at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district on Sunday afternoon. Officials said, the cable car came crashing down after a ropeway snapped in midair when a tree, uprooted by strong winds, fell on the ropeway connecting Gulmarg base camp with Affarwat, the highest skiing point.

Aadhaar Card Not A Travel Document, says MHA

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has said,Aadhaar is not a valid identification document for Indians travelling to Nepal and Bhutan. In a communique, the Ministry said, Indians can travel to both the countries, for which they don't need visas if they possess a valid national passport or election ID card issued by the Election Commission.
