New Delhi:More than half of people in the country lack awareness about the Goods and Services Tax, a survey by a mobile news application company has claimed.
The survey of over 3.6 lakh people across the country found that two Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have the highest awareness on the GST with over 64 per cent of population knowing about it.

New Delhi: A Mumbai based court has initiated process against industrialists Cyrus P Mistry, ShapoorMistry and others in aRs 500 crore criminal defamation complaint lodged last month by Tata Trusts' Managing Trustee R Venkataramanan.
The process was issued by Metropolitan Magistrate KG Paldewar and accordingly, Mistry, the ousted former Chairman of Tata Sons, and other directors of Cyrus Investments Pvt Ltd and Sterling Investments Pvt Ltd, will be tried for criminal defamation.
New Delhi: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has accused Governor KeshariNathTripathi of making threats against her and abusing her.
"He (the Governor) has threatened me. He has insulted me today. He cannot do that. I told him you cannot talk to me like this. I am an elected person. He is a nominated person," a furious Mamata told reporters.
New Delhi: The Centre will declare the tea stall in Gujarat's Vadnagar railway platform - where Prime Minister NarendraModi served customers in his childhood - a tourist spot, after renovating it.
"Converting the stall into a tourist spot is part of a larger project of putting Modi's birthplace, Vadnagar in Mehsana district, on the world tourism map," said Union culture minister Mahesh Sharma, who visited the town on Sunday.
