Belligerent Lalu says son Tejashwi not to quit as Deputy CM

New Delhi:Setting all speculations at rest, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has said that his son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, who has been facing corruption charges, will not resign from his post.

Mr Prasad said, “The Vidhan Mandal of our party has taken a decision that Tejashwi Yadav will not resign.” Defending his son over the recent demand for his expulsion from the post, Yadav said, ”An FIR is not sufficient reason for the resignation.”

Apex Court To Proceed Against Mallya Only When He Is Produced Before Them

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on contempt case proceedings against beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya and observed that it will proceed in the case only when he is produced before it.

The apex court also noted the government’s stand that proceedings to bring Mallya back is pending in the United Kingdom.

Highly Explosive Substance PETN Found In UP Assembly; Enough To Blow Up Complete Structure

New Delhi: A packet containing 100 grams of the highly explosive substance PETN was found in the UP Assembly on July 13. This packet was found under the chair of the Leader of the Opposition, Ram KobindChaudhary. The packet had somehow been missed by the security and the sniffer dogs. 

PETN is an abbreviation of Pentaerythritoltetranitrate, a substance very similar to Nitroglycerine. 500 grams of PETN is enough to completely demolish the UP Assembly building.

3500 Child Pornography Sites Blocked Last Month: Centre To SC

New Delhi: During the hearing of a petition filed with the Supreme Court, which sought direction to the Centre for taking appropriate steps to curb the menace of child pornography, the Government said in its status report that 3500 such websites were shut last month. 

The government told a three-judge bench headed by Justice DipakMisra that it has asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to consider installation of jammers in schools to block access to child pornographic content.Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand told the bench, also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and M MShantanagoudar that it is not possible to install jammers in school buses.
