India To Pak: We Reserve Right To Retaliate

New Delhi:India has conveyed a stern message to Pakistan saying that it reserves the right to retaliate against any incident of ceasefire violation along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a telephonic conversation, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, the director general of military operations (DGMO) told his Pakistani counterpart that the Indian Army was sincere about maintaining peace on the LoC.

Presidential Polls Witnesses Near Perfect Polling

New Delhi: Presidential election has witnessed an overwhelming response from electors as over 99% of MPs and MLAs — across the country cast their votes to elect the next President.

NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind is pitted against the opposition's Meira Kumar in the direct contest. Counting of votes will take place on Thursday.

Voting was held in 32 polling stations, including one in Parliament House (Room No.62) and one each in every state assembly. Ballot boxes from the states will be brought to Delhi for counting.

Venkaiah is NDA’s Vice President candidate

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will be the NDA candidate for the post of Vice President. The announcement was made by BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday evening after the Party Parliamentary Board meeting. 

He said, the decision was taken unanimously by the board. Mr Shah said, the name of Mr Naidu was earlier discussed with the NDA allies and is supported by them.

No More Opportunity To Deposit Demonetised Notes, Centre Tells Apex Court

New Delhi: The Centre has rejected the Supreme Court`s directive to consider providing another chance to those who have not been able to deposit demonetised Rs.500 and Rs. 1000 notes by saying that it will “defeat the very object of demonetisation and elimination of black money”.

The Supreme Court had asked the Centre a fortnight back to consider granting a window to those who have not been able to deposit demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes due to “genuine reasons”.
