New Delhi: The Janata Dal (United) on Saturday removed Sharad Yadav as party leader in Rajya Sabha.
Party President Nitish Kumar has made RCP Singh as new leader of the party in the Upper House.
The party has written a letter to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha in this regard.
Earlier, JD (U) suspended its Rajya Sabha member Ali Anwar Ansari from the Parliamentary Party for attending a meeting of opposition parties convened by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi yesterday.
New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh, BRD Medical college Hospital Principal Dr Rajiv Misra has been suspended in the tragic death of children at the hospital for his alleged negligence in the duty.
Medical Education State Minister of Medical Education Ashutosh Tandon Gopal has announced it at Gorakhpur after taking stock of the situation at Gorakhpur. Mr Tandon also said that a high level Committee under chairmanship of Chief Secretary of the State Rajeev Kumar has been set up to probe into the tragic incident.
Mr Tandon also said that actions will be taken on the report of the higher level committee. He said that supply of life saving item of oxygen should not be stopped and it is a serious matter.
New Delhi: Los Angeles city council rubber-stamped the host city contract today, paving the way for bringing the 2028 Summer Olympics to southern California and ceding the 2024 Games to Paris.
The members voted 12-0 in favour of signing off on the memorandum of understanding and host city contract documents which would see the city host the Summer Games for the third
time in history.
Los Angeles started off competing with other cities around the world for the 2024 Games, but eventually all bidders except for Los Angeles and Paris dropped out.
New Delhi: A local court in Chandigarh today sent Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala's son Vikas and his friend Ashish Kumar to judicial custody. Both are facing charges in the alleged stalking and attempt to abduction case of a 29-year-old lady.
The accused were arrested last week following the complaint of an IAS officer's daughter, but released on bail. But they were re-arrested and sent to police custody on 9th August.
New Delhi: UP Government has denied the report carried by some news channels about the casualties of some children in BRD Medical college Gorakhpur due to lack of oxygen cylinders. The state Government yesterday clarified it in a press release amid the media reports of deaths of children in the medical college.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh government has set up a committee to ascertain if any lapse have been in the deaths of children at the medics college.
State Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh has said that 60 children have died since August 7 due to different diseases but not due to lack of oxygen cylinders.
