#Covid-19: New 1-day High of 1.28 Crore Jabs; 23% Adult Population Fully Vaccinated

in DNDNews

India on Tuesday crossed the one-crore milestone for the second time within five days as it administered over 1.28 crore doses of anti-Covid jabs till 10pm, hitting a new high in single-day vaccinations and outstripping its own previous record of 1.03 crore doses achieved on August 27.

The increased pace of vaccination is primarily driven by improved supplies, while the Centre has also been pushing states to ramp up inoculation coverage, particularly that of the second dose, mainly in the wake of the upcoming festivities.

While supplies are expected to improve further, the government estimates around 20-22 crore doses in September and another 25-30 crore in October. The last two months of the year are expected to receive 35 crore doses each, a senior official said.

#CrossBorderTerrorism: We Ensure `No Anti-National Force’ Be Allowed To Fuel Terror, Says Rajnath Singh

in DNDNews

The government is taking steps to ensure `no anti-national force’ is allowed to fuel cross-border terrorism by taking advantage of the evolving situation in Afghanistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday, while slamming Pakistan for its policy of giving `death of thousand cuts’ to India.

Delivering the Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture, organized by Panjab University through video-conferencing, Singh said the government has been “constantly monitoring” the developments in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover of the country.

"What is happening in Afghanistan is raising new questions from the security point of view. Security of Indians is a cause of concern for the government. We also do not want anti-India forces to take advantage of the evolving Afghan situation for cross-border terrorism,” he said.
