Texas bill pushes to ban international students from these 4 countries

in WORLD

In a recent house bill, Texan state representative Tony Tinderhol proposed the prohibition of students from China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran from Higher Education Institutions within the state, The Pie News reported.

The bill also seeks to ban all undocumented students from Texan colleges.

While parties close to the subject say that the law is unlikely to pass, many are concerned that it may rekindle anti-Asian and anti-immigrant sentiments.

“While the bill is most likely not to pass, the mere idea that students, many already faced with hardships and struggles, are targeted restricts the ability to share ideas, knowledge, and experiences.

in WORLD

Donald Trump, the former United States President, attacked the current Joe Biden-led Administration in his first remarks after his arraignment and said, “Our country is going to hell.” Addressing a vast gathering of his supporters after arriving at his Florida home late on Tuesday, Trump said, “I never thought anything like this could happen in America. Trump said while commenting on his arraignment on “Truth Social’.

Chinese spy balloon gathered intelligence from sensitive US military sites: Report

in WORLD

The Chinese spy balloon that flew across the US was able to collect intelligence from several sensitive American military sites, US-based NBC News reported on Monday. China was successful in gathering intelligence despite Washington's efforts to block it from doing so, the report said almost two months after a US air force fighter jet shot down the high-altitude Chinese surveillance balloon on February 4.

The US officials first detected the balloon on January 28 when it entered American airspace near the Aleutian Islands. The balloon traversed Alaska, and Canada and re-entered US airspace over Idaho. During its course, the balloon was flying over Montana — specifically Malmstrom Air Force Base, where the US stores some of its nuclear assets. The balloon was shot down on February 4, over a week after it was first detected.

Imran Khan claims Gen Bajwa forced him to develop friendly ties with India

in WORLD

Pakistan's ousted prime minister Imran Khan has claimed that the then Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had put pressure on him to develop friendly ties with India.

Relations between India and Pakistan have often been strained over the Kashmir issue and cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan. However, their ties nose-dived after India abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution, revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcating the State into two Union Territories on August 5, 2019.

"Gen Bajwa wanted me to develop friendly ties with India. He put pressure on me for this and it was one of the reasons our relationship deteriorated," Khan claimed during an interaction with social media journalists at his Lahore's Zaman Park residence on Saturday evening.
