Belarusian President rushed to hospital after meeting with Putin: Report

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was taken to a hospital in Moscow after meeting his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Newsweek reported citing the Belarusian opposition leader.

Claiming that Lukashenko was in critical condition at the Central Clinical Hospital of Moscow, Belarus 2020 presidential candidate Valery Tsepkalo, in a Saturday Telegram post, said that the information his team obtained required further information and that it had not been confirmed, American weekly news magazine Newsweek reported.

WHO Chief Tedros warns of next pandemic, urge nations to be prepared

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday issued a warning that the world must get ready for the next pandemic. 

Addressing the 76th World Health Assembly, Tedros said the next pandemic could be 'even deadlier' than the Coronavirus pandemic.  

The warning comes weeks after the WHO head announced that the Covid-19 pandemic is no longer a public health emergency as the cases started stabilising across the world.

Pakistan’s Imran Khan gets bail from anti-terrorism court

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been granted bail in multiple cases by an anti-terrorism court in capital Islamabad.

Media reports on Tuesday said the chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party was granted bail until June 8 in eight cases related to violence at the court complex in March this year.

Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was also granted protective bail until May 31 in a corruption case on Tuesday by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court in Islamabad.
