India has got a shot in arm vis-à-vis Kulbhushan Jadhav case sub judised in International Court of Justice as a United Nations body slammed the system of military courts in Pakistan. India is fighting its case against Pakistan in the ICJ against the death sentence awarded to Jadhav.
A report published by United Nations Committee against torture observed that Islamabad should desist from using military courts for terrorism-related prosecutions and transfer all the pending cases against civilians to civilian court from military courts.

Attorney General MukulRohatgiassured a five-judge Constitution Bench that the Government is ready to bring in a law holding the instant divorce (triple talaq)practice illegalif the court bans the practice. 
“If the practice of instant divorce (triple talaq) is struck down by the court, then Centre will bring a law to regulate marriage and divorce among the Muslim community,” Rohatgi saidon the third day of the Supreme Court hearing on the issueon Monday.

Calcutta High Court judge Justice C S Karnan on Thursday moved the Supreme Court seeking recall of an order holding him guilty of contempt of court and sentencing him to a six-month jail term. A petition on his behalf was mentioned before a five- judge bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar, which agreed to look into it.
