New Delhi:Defence Minister ArunJaitley has lauded the Army's action across the LoC to counter infiltrations saying such actions are needed to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir. In a tweet, Jaitley said, the government supports the actions of Indian Army across the LoC.  He said, the Army is taking pre-emptive and measured actions to counter terrorism in the Valley and  disengage Pakistani posts across LoC that support infiltration.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. RajyavardhanRathore has termed the Indian Army's strike at Pakistani Army posts as a strong move.

New Delhi:In Uttarakhand 21 Chardham pilgrims were killed while 7 others have been injured in a bus accident near Dharasu in Uttarkashi district last evening. 
The bus carrying 28 pilgrims from Indore Madhya Pradesh was returning from Gangotri when it fell into Bhagirathi River.
The accident occurred around 6pm yesterday near Dharasu when the pilgrims were returning formGangotri. The bus carrying 28 yatris plunged into Bhagirathi river at nalupani near dharasu. All 21 dead bodies have been recovered. 

New Delhi:Controversial godmanChandraswami - close friend of Prime Minister PV NarasimhaRao and allegedly involved in the assassination of his predecessor Rajig Gandhi — died here on Tuesday.Chandraswami, who had suffered a stroke, died at the Apollo Hospital at the age of 66. "Spiritual leader JagadacharyaChandraswamiji, 66 years old, had been ailing for some time. He recently suffered a stroke," a hospital statement said. It said a multi-organ failure led to his death at 2.56 pm.

The Election Commission has invited all the seven national and 49 state parties to participate in the challenge to prove that its EVMs can be tampered with.
Earlier, the commission had said that it would invite all the national and state recognised parties which had contested the recent assembly polls. Some of these parties had alleged that the EVMs were tampered with.
Now, the poll panel has sent letters to all the seven national parties – the BJP, the BSP, the Congress, the CPI, the CPI-M, the NCP and the TMC – and 49 state parties, including the AAP.

The United States and six Gulf countries have joined hands to curb financing terror organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Haqqani network and the Taliban. 
US Department of Treasury said in Washington that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) was signed by the US and six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh on the sidelines of visit of President Donald Trump.
