Bomb hurled at BJP MP’s car in West Bengal; MP escapes unhurt

A bomb was allegedly hurled at a Bharatiya Janata Party’s MPs car in West Bengal’s Nadia district on Saturday night.

BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar, however managed to escape unhurt as the bomb landed just behind his car. The car suffered some damage from splinters, he alleged. Sarkar has lodged a complaint with the police.

“I am sure it was done by the TMC. The bomb was meant for me. It, however, missed the target and landed just behind my car. The car suffered some damages as it was hit by the splinters,” said Sarkar. He was speaking to the media after lodging a complaint at Haringhata police station in Nadia.

Telangana BJP slams CM KCR for comments on The Kashmir Files

In a press conference on Monday, March 21, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao waded into The Kashmir Files row and alleged that the BJP was 'doing politics in the name of Shivaji Maharaj', by triggering emotion through the movie to gain political mileage. He also said that efforts are on to "fill the vacuum in national politics'.'

Reacting to KCR, the Telangana BJP said that the TRS chief wanted to divert the attention of people.

The film was produced based on the truth that Kashmiri pundits were murdered by Islamic terrorists. It was an open fact and the film was becoming popular in the country and being watched by thousands and lakhs of people who liked and supported the facts.''

FIR against two arrested in Tamil Nadu for threatening high court judges: Cops

The Karnataka police has registered an FIR against the two people arrested in Tamil Nadu on charges of issuing death threats to the special bench judges of the Karnataka high court who dismissed the petitions seeking permission to wear hijab inside the classrooms, police said on Sunday.

On Saturday, Kovai Rahamathulla was arrested from Tirunelveli and S. Jamal Mohammad Usmani was taken into custody from Thanjavur. The accused are office bearers of the Tamil Nadu Towheed Jamaat (TNTJ).

Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik to remain in jail till April 4

Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik, arrested last month in connection with a money laundering case linked to fugitive terrorist Dawood Inbrahim, will remain in jail till April 4, a special court for cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Mumbai said today. Nawab Malik was produced before the PMLA court after his judicial remand ended today.

His lawyer, Taraq Sayyed, had filed an application before the court demanding his release. Asking the Special Public Prosecutor to file a response to Malik's request for home-cooked food in jail, the court passed an interim order, allowing food to be brought to the minister from his home until the next hearing. It has also asked the Chief Medical Officer to file a report in this regard.

Malik's lawyer has also sought fresh medical reports and told the court that the minister is suffering from certain medical conditions. No opposition came from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), who said an appropriate order may be passed in line with the jail manual.
