Facebook Removes 'Like' Button From All Public Pages

Facebook has removed the 'Like' button from its redesigned public pages used by artists, actors, public figures, and brands. The move is being made to simplify the way people connect with their favourite pages.

Facebook pages will now only show the number of followers and a dedicated news feed section for users to join a conversation or interact with other users. "We are removing Likes and focusing on Followers to simplify the way people connect with their favourite Pages. Unlike Likes, Followers of a Page represent the people who can receive updates from Pages, which helps give public figures a stronger indication of their fan base,” Facebook said.

FAU-G launch date confirmed, trailer shows glimpse of the first episode

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Vishal Gondal announced on their Twitter handle the launch date of FAU-G game, the so called rival of infamous PUBG Mobile, which is currently banned in the country due to privacy and security reasons.

FAU-G is one of the most awaited action games of 2020. Gaming enthusiasts who have been waiting for the action game will be able to get their hands on FAU-G on January 26. The FAU-G game will be released in India on this Republic day. The game has been available for pre-registration for a long time now. 


The action game should be initially available only for Android users on Google Play store. There are no details on whether the FAU-G game will be available on Apple App sore in the near future.

The game developer nCore Games, which is based in Bengaluru, has also released a new trailer of FAU-G action game. This trailer reveals fresh details of the first episode of the game, which is said to be based on the Galwan Valley episode between Indian and Chinese army, occurred last year. The trailer shows the Indian soldiers defeating the rivals at the border. The episode is based in LOC, Ladakh.

Rumours and other reports suggest that the PUBG Mobile India game will take some more time to release in the country. This is because the Indian government first wants to ensure that the game meets all the concerns raised by them at the time of the ban. The launch or release date of the PUBG Mobile India is yet to be officially confirmed.

PUBG Mobile India’s struggle to return back to India could prove to be a great opportunity for FAU-G, which is said to be the Indian rival of PUBG Mobile. To recall, FAU-G was first announced a few weeks after the government banned PUBG Mobile in India.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 pre-orders in India will start on January 12 at 12PM (noon), with the sales starting on February 2. Sony launched the PlayStation 5 new generation console on November 12 2020 in some areas and November 19 in some areas, last year. The PlayStation 5 will be sold at all major retailers including Amazon, Flipkart, Croma , Reliance Digital , Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Center, Vijay Sales and select other authorised partners.

The Sony PlayStation 5 has been priced in India at Rs 49,990 for the standard edition with a disk drive, and Rs 39,990 for the digital edition. Both the Sony PlayStation 5 regular and Digital Edition are identical in terms of performance and specifications, except for the presence or absence of the disk drive. Both are powered by a 3.5GHz AMD Zen 2-based octa-core CPU, paired with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and 825GB of NVMe SSD storage and come with a bunch of accessories like a charging deck for DualSense controllers, a remote control, an HD camera, and Sony's PULSE 3D headphones.

Facebook to shut down Irish holding companies amid disputes over tax payments in Europe

Facebook is winding down its Irish holding company in light of wider disputes over the way it pays taxes in the the European Union.

In 2018, the social networking giant's Irish subsidiary paid just $101 million in tax, while recording profits of more than $15 billion.

The subsidiary, Facebook International Holdings I Unlimited Company, also brought in around $30 billion of revenue, accounting for more than half of the firm's total annual turnover of $56 billion.

In a statement to The Times in London, a Facebook spokesperson said the Irish entity "was wound up as part of a change that best aligns with our operating structure." They added: "We believe it is consistent with recent and upcoming tax law changes that policymakers are advocating for around the world."
