Twitter To Explain Why Some Postings Are Unavailable

New Delhi: You will soon be able to know why certain tweets go unavailable in your conversation thread on Twitter. The micro-blogging platform is working on to "add context" to "this tweet is unavailable" notices.

"We're fixing the issue where you see so many 'This Tweet is unavailable' notices in conversations. This is usually due to deleted or protected Tweets, or muted keywords," Twitter Support posted on Friday. "In a few weeks, you'll start seeing more context on each notice to help explain why Tweets are unavailable," the company added.

Wikipedia Founder Joins List Of Facebook Haters

New Delhi: Joining the chorus against social media giants and their growing power, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has slammed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and micro-blogging platform Twitter. In an interview with CNBC, Sanger who co-founded Wikipedia in 2001 said Internet is "appalling frankly". "The Internet wouldn't have been created by people like Zuckerberg, or any of the sort of corporate executives in Silicon Valley today," he was quoted as saying.

"They wouldn't be capable, they don't have the temperament, they're too controlling. They don't understand the whole idea of bottom up," Sanger added. Sanger joins a growing list of Facebook haters. Recently, the social networking giant's ex-security chief Alex Stamos said Zuckerberg needs to give up some of his control of Facebook and hire a new CEO like Microsoft President Brad Smith. "There is a legitimate argument that he has too much power. He needs to give up some of that power," Stamos had said.

Huawei’s Ban Is Apple’s Gain

New Delhi: Due to the ongoing US-Huawei trade tension, Apple has increased the iPhone assemblies and shipments to 40 million units in the quarter ending in June which was originally estimated at 39 million. Research report publisher Cowen suggests that Apple is responding to increased demand for the iPhone in some markets following the Trump administration's recent decision to ban sales of technology and components from the US to companies like Huawei.

According to predictions, 75 per cent of iPhone production - about 30 million units for the quarter ending in June - will be across the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models. The majority of the remainder is spread across the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models, news website Apple Insider reported. However, the ongoing trade tension is not going to benefit the iPhone-maker in the long term as Huawei is expected to unveil its mobile OS for customers in China initially, then other markets.
