Cricketer Manoj Tiwary likely to join TMC in Feb 24 Mamata rally

Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary will join the Trinamool Congress at West Bengal Chief Minister and party chief Mamata Banerjee's rally, in Hooghly district's Chinsurah, on Wednesday 24 February, sources in the party told reporters.

Along with Tiwary, some members of the Congress, BJP and other "eminent personalities" are also expected to join the party at the rally. Banerjee's rally will be held in the same ground where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting on 22 February. The TMC rally is being seen as a counter to Modi's.

35-year-old Manoj Tiwary has represented the Indian cricket team in the one-day international (ODI) and T20 formats.

Kohli's on-field antics often blew up social media and the opposition captain make sure to not rile him up further. Despite all this, he is still regarded as one of the greatest of the current generation.

But, leaving his on-field aggression aside, off-field, the behaviour of the energetic captain is completely different. In a recent interaction, former India cricketer and selector Sarandeep Singh revealed Kohli's true 'humble' nature, especially during team selection meetings.

"Whenever Virat comes, team meetings used to go on for 1, 1.5 hours. Virat is a good listener. I don't know what people think about him," Sarandeep Singh told Sportskeeda.

Novak Djokovic extended his lead in the 'Big Titles' race to three on Sunday when he defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 for the Australian Open title.

The World No. 1 now owns 59 'Big Titles', moving three clear of Rafael Nadal, who has 56, and five ahead of Roger Federer, who owns 54. A 'Big Title' is a trophy at a Grand Slam championship, the Nitto ATP Finals, an ATP Masters 1000 tournament or an Olympic singles gold medal.

Djokovic has now won at least one 'Big Title' in nine of the past 10 seasons. The Serbian, who earned his 18th major crown Sunday inside Rod Laver Arena, is now within two trophies of Federer and Nadal on the Grand Slam titles leaderboard.

Kyle Jamieson becomes highest paid New Zealander and fourth highest in IPL's 14-year history

Waking up at around midnight in New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson wondered how much Rs 15 crore would be in his country's currency, after having watched an intense three-way bid for him in the IPL auction.

The 6'8" pacer eventually ended up with Royal Challengers Bangalore for USD 2 million approximately, making him the highest paid New Zealander and fourth highest in the IPL's 14-year history.

"I woke up around midnight and decided to check the phone. Rather than trying to avoid the situation, (I thought) I'll sit back and enjoy it. It was certainly a weird hour and a half waiting for my name to be called up," Jamieson was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz.

"I had a message from Shane Bond (former New Zealand pacer and Mumbai Indians bowling coach) as it was going and he said, 'How good is this'.
