IPL 2022: Fans in shock after Yuzvendra Chahal hits stumps, but David Warner remains not out

in SPORTS

Delhi Capitals' star opening batter David Warner lived a charmed life against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, 11 May in Mumbai. Coming out to bat in the second innings, Delhi needed 161 runs to win. Warner was expected to give a fiery start - something that he has done several times this season, but was not able to get going.

Rajasthan Royals' Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna dictated the tempo in the early overs of the game, keeping the DC batters in check. With the odd ball bouncing extra off the deck, Warner found it quite troubling to get going. He edged Trent Boult through the slip cordon, but at that moment, nobody was manning that area.

Virat Kohli likely to be dropped, selectors break silence on ex-skipper’s Team India future

in SPORTS

Virat Kohli’s poor run continued as he registered his third golden duck of IPL 2022 against SunRiders Hyderabad (SRH). Barring a couple of knocks, the former RCB skipper has looked off colour throughout this season.

A player who made a mark in world cricket with his self-belief has looked short of confidence. The reactions on his face after his dismissals clearly show that he is clueless and doesn’t know how to bail himself out at the moment.

Many experts, including former India head coach Ravi Shastri, have advised the 33-year-old batter to take a break from cricket in order to recharge his batteries and return to the field with a fresh mindset.

IPL 2022: On Rohit's dismissal, MI fans slam umpire after his controversial dismissal vs KKR

in SPORTS

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma had another bad outing in IPL 2022, as he was dismissed for just 2 off 6 balls, in just the first over of the chase.

His dismissal, however, created a controversy as majority of IPL fans felt that he was not out there and that the umpire hurried to take the final decision.

On the last ball of the first over in the chase, KKR's pacer Tim Southee bowled a scrambled seam short of length delivery. Rohit did not have room to play with so jumped to defend it to leg side.

However the ball flew off the thigh pad and Sheldon Jackson took a good low catch diving to the right behind the wickets.

England's new captain Ben Stokes takes decision to change Joe Root's batting position

in SPORTS

England's newly appointed Test skipper Ben Stokes has revealed that former captain Joe Root will return to his number four position during the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

"I've already spoken with Joe. I've asked him to go back to four and I'm going to be at six," Stokes was quoted as saying by icc-cricket.com.

Stokes plans to bat himself at six and is hoping that prospective players that harbour aspirations of batting in England's recently frail top and middle-order will give him plenty to ponder by scoring a bulk of runs at the county level ahead of the first Test of the summer against the Kiwis at Lord's on June 2.
